Change Password/New Password

Page Description

If you have the necessary security rights, you may use the Change Password page to change the password you use to sign in to Copia. If you sign in after a Copia System Administrator resets your password, Copia displays the New Password page, so you may enter your new password for the system.

Depending on the system default administration settings, Copia may be enforcing minimum password character requirements. Copia displays the password rules at the bottom of the page (e.g., "Minimum number of characters: 5"). If one or more password rules are in place and the password you enter does not meet the new standards, Copia alerts you and prompts you to re-enter a different password. Copia will not allow you to save a password that does not meet these rules.

Changing Your Password
  1. Open the Change Password page from the Application page. See the Application topic.
  2. Enter your current password in the Old Password field.
  3. Enter the characters you want to use as your new password for Copia in the New Password field. Note that passwords may contain internal spaces (spaces between characters), but Copia removes leading or trailing spaces (spaces in front of or behind the password). Note that you may also need to adhere to the minimum character requirements for your password. If one or more password rules are in place and the password you enter does not meet the new standards, Copia alerts you and prompts you to re-enter a different password. Copia will not allow you to save a password that does not meet these rules.
  4. Re-enter the new password in the Confirm Password field.
  5. Click Save to record your changes, or click Cancel to discard your changes. Clicking either button returns you to the Application page.

Entering a New Password
  1. If you sign in after a Copia System Administrator selects the Change Password On Sign In option button for your account on the Users administration page, Copia displays the New Password page automatically. See the Admin: Users topic.
  2. Enter the characters that you want to use as your new password for Copia in the New Password field. Note that passwords may contain internal spaces (spaces between characters), but Copia removes leading or trailing spaces (spaces in front of or behind the password). If one or more password rules are in place and the password you enter does not meet the new standards, Copia alerts you and prompts you to re-enter a different password.
