Copia integrates test results from multiple, unrelated laboratories into a common database, and allows you to view a patient's complete testing profile on a single web page. Copia also allows you to use the same website to place orders and manage sample collection for one location or many.

Overview

Copia consists of 7 main functions:

• Manage Orders - Allows you to add new orders and modify existing orders.
• Manage Samples - Provides all of the information required to collect good samples and avoid rejections.
• View Results - Allows you to view results by location, view both current and aggregate results, and even display graphs of your patients' test results over time.
• Patient Info - Allows you to view, create, or edit patient demographic records, insurance data, alerts or comments, or order information.
• This Location - Allows you to view pending orders and results, establish lab account numbers, and change your current location.
• My Preferences - Contains preference options for you to configure that are unique to you and your practice.
• Administration - Allows you to view or print administrative reports. You must have the necessary security permissions to access this function.

As you can see, some of the applications will be used all of the time, while others, once configured, are set to run in the background without constant operator attention.

Getting Started

Once you have signed in to Copia, where you start depends on what you want to do and whether or not you have selected a patient record. To begin performing a task, simply click on the name of the task in the menu on the left side of the page in Copia.

IMPORTANT: Before you may place orders, collect samples, or review patient information, you must select a patient. The Find Patient search field at the top of every page in Copia allows you to find and select a patient. Once you have selected the desired patient, the actions you perform are based on the selected patient. To work on a different patient record, simply perform another search. See the Selecting a Patient topic.
