Page Description

Use the Patient IDs page to view the patient's master patient ID or to view, add, or edit up to two alternate identification numbers for the patient. You must have the necessary rights to edit these values. You may use this feature to handle cases where a billing system, reference lab, clinic, or other entity uses a different patient ID scheme. Copia can send and receive these values in inbound and outbound messages to host systems.

In addition to patient IDs, this page displays the hosts associated with the patient and their respective host codes. If you have the necessary rights, you may edit these patient host codes.

Accessing this Page

• Click the More button on the Demographics page.

1. The Master Patient ID section lists the master patient ID, if the patient is linked to another patient in the system. You may not edit this value.
2. Click the Cancel button to return to the Demographics page, or make any necessary changes to the alternate patient IDs or patient host codes. See "Adding or Editing Patient IDs" or "Viewing or Editing Patient Host Codes" below.

1. Copia displays the selected patient's primary Patient ID at the top of the page.
2. The Patient ID 2 and Patient ID 3 fields display the patient's alternate identifying numbers, if available.
3. Enter or edit alternate identifying numbers in the Patient ID 2 and Patient ID 3 fields, if desired. You must have the necessary rights to edit these values.
4. Click the Cancel button to clear any changes made to the alternate patient IDs.
5. Click Save to retain your changes and return to the Demographics page. See the Demographics topic.
6. Click Save on the Demographics page to save the changes. Copia does not save the changes you make to the alternate patient IDs until you click Save on the Demographics page.

1. Copia displays the Host Name and ID of the hosts associated with the selected patient. If you do not have the necessary rights to edit these values, then you may only review the information.
2. If you have the necessary rights to edit these values, then the ID field for each host is editable.
3. Modify the host codes as desired.
4. Click the Cancel button to clear any changes made to the host codes and return to the Demographics page.
5. Click Save to retain your changes and return to the Demographics page. See the Demographics topic.
6. Click Save on the Demographics page to save the changes. Copia does not save the changes you make to the host codes until you click Save on the Demographics page.
