Use the Miscellaneous Order Choice page to manually create one-time use reference lab order choices that are not yet in the Copia system, but that you have partial information about. There are several important points to remember if you are using miscellaneous order choices:

• Adding an order choice here does not add the order choice permanently to the system. That must be done in the Order Choices administration page by a system administrator.
• You will not be able to select this order choice for any other order. You must add the miscellaneous order choice each time you need it until it is permanently added to the Copia system.
• When you use miscellaneous order choices, you must manually select the appropriate lab for testing in the Lab field on the Order Patient Samples page, even if you set up routing information in this page. See the Order Patient Samples topic.

Creating or Editing Miscellaneous Order Choices

1. Enter or modify the Order Choice Information in the fields listed below for the miscellaneous order choice.
• Order Choice Name: Enter the name of the order choice. This field is required.
• CPT Code: Enter the CPT identifier.
• Lab Name: Select the reference lab that will perform the testing for the order choice.
• Host Code: Enter the host code identifier for the order choice.
2. Enter or modify the Sample Collection Information in the fields listed below for the miscellaneous order choice. The options for these fields must be created in the order choice setup administration pages.
• Sample Type: Select the type of sample needed for the order choice (swab, whole blood, urine, etc.).
• Container Type: Select the type of container needed for the sample (slide, tube, syringe, etc.).
• Allow same Sample ID for compatible Order Choices: Mark this checkbox if testing for other order choices may use the same sample. Clear it if they cannot.
• Collection Instructions: Enter any special information needed when collecting the sample for the order choice.
3. Click Save to record the changes, or click Cancel to return to the preceding page without creating or editing the miscellaneous order choice.
4. When you return to the Order Choices page after adding a miscellaneous order choice, the order choice is listed with an "(M)."
