Viewing the Order Choice Type List

  1. The Order Choice Types list page contains a list of up to ten order choice types. If the list is longer than one page, use the Page links, located below the list of order choice types, to navigate through the list.
  2. To view active order choice types only, select the Show active only checkbox at the top of the Order Choice Types list page. You set the active/inactive status in the Order Choice Type Details section of the Order Choice Types details page. See "Adding Order Choice Types" below.
  3. If you cannot find the desired order choice type, click the Add button to add an order choice type. See "Adding Order Choice Types" below.
  4. Click the name of the order choice type on the Order Choice Types list page to edit the order choice information in the Order Choice Types details page. See "Editing Order Choice Types" below.

Adding Order Choice Types

  1. Use the Order Choice Types details page to create order choice types .
  2. Enter the full name of the order choice type in the Order Choice Type field. This field is required.
  3. Click the ID Generation button to define a sample ID or order ID generation rule for an order choice type, so that any order choice that has this order choice type assigned to it will follow the order choice type's sample ID or order ID formats. See the Admin: ID Generation topic. Note that you must have the necessary security settings to access the ID Generation administration page.
  4. Select the Is combinable checkbox to allow order choices that have order choice type-based ID generation to combine onto a single sample as long as the two order choices are both assigned to the same order choice type. Note that this setting will only be visible when ID generation has been defined for the order choice type.
  5. Select the Stop order message from being sent to lab when sample is marked as collected checkbox to restrict Copia from automatically transmitting orders when a sample is collected. Clear this checkbox to enable Copia to send the order report as soon as the sample is marked as collected.
  6. Select the Active checkbox to enable users to select the order choice type for order choices. Clear this checkbox to restrict users from selecting the order choice type. If the order choice type is inactive, Copia clears it from the Order Choice Types list page when you select the Show active only checkbox. See "Viewing the Order Choice Type List" above.
  7. Click the Change Log button to view the change log for the selected order choice type. See the Admin: Change Log topic. Note that you must have the necessary security right to access the Change Log page.
  8. Click < Back to List to return to the Order Choice Types list page without saving any changes.
  9. Click Save to record changes and return to the Order Choice Types list page.

Editing Order Choice Types

  1. Use the Order Choice Types details page to modify the name or active status of the order choice type.
  2. To edit, highlight or delete text already displayed in the Order Choice Type field, then modify as desired.
  3. Click the ID Generation button to define a sample ID generation rule for an order choice type, so that any order choice that has this order choice type assigned to it will follow the order choice type's sample ID format. See the Admin: ID Generation topic. Note that you must have the necessary security settings to access the ID Generation administration page.
  4. Select the Stop order message from being sent to lab when sample is marked as collected checkbox to restrict Copia from automatically transmitting orders when a sample is collected. Clear this checkbox to enable Copia to send the order report as soon as the sample is marked as collected.
  5. Select the Create duplicate order if matching order is received with different Placer Order Number checkbox to allow order choices that are assigned to that type to create duplicate orders if a matching order is received with a different placer order number via HL7. For this setting to take effect, the host that the order is received from must be configured to "Match order components for a patient by using a five minute window of time."
  6. Select the Active checkbox to enable users to select the order choice type for order choices. Clear this checkbox to restrict users from selecting the order choice type. If the order choice type is inactive, Copia clears it from the Order Choice Types list page when you select the Show active only checkbox. See "Viewing the Order Choice Type List" above.
  7. Click < Back to List to return to the Order Choice Types list page without saving any changes.
  8. Click Save to record changes and return to the Order Choice Types list page.
