Use the Report Graph page to view a graph of the results for one or more order choices and their corresponding tests. Copia displays each order choice on a separate graph, and users may select which tests within the order choice to graph or hide, as well as which tests' ranges to graph or hide.

Copia supports graphing results in scientific notation. To be considered a scientific number, the result must contain a number followed by a valid exponent (a space may exist between the number and exponent).  An exponent is considered valid if it contains one of the following exponential identifiers: "x10e", "x10", or "e" (case insensitive) and is immediately (i.e. no spaces) followed by a digit. Examples of valid exponential numbers:

4.7x103"

A Copia system administrator may define on the System Defaults administration page one or more text values for Copia to interpret as zero (0) when graphing. Contact a system administrator to define and use this feature.

When you access this page from the Lab Report page, Copia displays all order choices on the report for graphing. When you access this page from the Cumulative Report page, then Copia applies the filter options from the Cumulative Report filter (i.e., date range and which order choices may be graphed).

Reviewing the Report Graph

1. The Report Graph page is split into up to three sections: the Result History Graph section contains patient and order information, the Summary Graph section (if displayed) contains a single graph that contains all of the order choice graphs, and the Order Choice Graph section contains a graph on which each order choice is graphed individually.
2. The Result History Graph section contains information about the patient (Patient Name, Patient ID, DOB (Date of Birth), SSN (Social Security Number), Provider, and Practice) and the Order ID, if you are viewing the report graph from a result report.
3. This section also allows you to modify the display of the results. When you select any of these options, Copia automatically updates the page.
• Normalize All: Select this option to normalize all the order choice graphs. Normalizing a graph converts all reference ranges to a low of -1 and high of 1, and then changes the results to correspond to the new range. When you display the summary graph (see below), you may not normalize individual order choices; you must use the Normalize All option to enable/disable normalization for all order choices.
• Reverse Data Points: Select this option to display the most recent data first on all graphs.
• Show Data Vertically: Select this option to display the text data for historical report graphs vertically instead of horizontally on on-screen and printed reports.
• Show Summary Graph: Select this option to display one graph that contains all the order choice data. It also combines all of the order choice text data (tests, order dates and times, reference range, units of measurement, and the standard deviation) and displays it below the summary graph. If you have normalized any individual order choices (see below), then when you select the Show Summary Graph option, Copia automatically disables those order choice normalizations.
4. Click the Refresh All button to reload all of the summary and/or order choice graphs on the page.
5. Click the Print All button to print all graphs on one PDF document via the View PDF page.
6. Below the patient information, Copia displays the Summary Graph section if both the Show Summary Graph option (see above) and the Graph option (see below) are enabled. The summary graph displays all the order choice data on one graph. It also combines all the order choice text data and displays it below the graph. Click the Print button to print the summary graph and corresponding data via the View PDF page.
   • The graph is affected by the display options in the Result History Graph section and the reference range settings in the Order Choice section(s).
   • If there are multiple results, a line connects the result values on the graph. Patient test results with no previous history cannot be graphed as lines, so they are graphed as single data points.
   • Non-numeric results cannot be graphed.
7. Below the Summary Graph section, Copia displays a section for each Order Choice. You may modify the display of the graph information by selecting one or more of the following options:
• Graph: Select this option to display the graph for the selected test. You must enable this option for at least one test to display the summary graph (see above). As you select this option for one or more tests, Copia adds the data points for each test to the graph. Click the Graph header to add all tests to the graph.
• Reference Range: Select this option to have Copia display the reference range as a shaded area on the graph. Click the Reference Range header to show the ranges for all tests.
• Normalize Data: Select this option to normalize the data displayed on the graph. Normalizing a graph converts all reference ranges to a low of -1 and high of 1, and then changes the results to correspond to the new range. This option is only available if the Show Summary Graph and Normalize All options are not enabled.
• Display __ most recent points: Select this option to limit the display to the selected number of data points. When you select the first test to graph, Copia sets this number to the total number of historical results for the test. Modify this value as desired.
8. As you review any of the graphs on the page, note the following:
• Copia displays each test in a different color, up to nine colors. Once all nine have been used, Copia restarts using the colors from the beginning.
• The color Copia uses for the test results on the order choice graph will match the color used on the summary graph, if it is shown.
• Each test has a corresponding axis and entry in the legend of the same color.
• You may move the cursor over any point on the order choice or summary graphs to view information about that data point (test, date, and result).
• If you have enabled the reference range for one or more tests, Copia displays the shaded reference ranges in the same color as the corresponding tests.
• If the order choice is normalized, then Copia displays only one axis and one range, since all normalized tests have the same axis range and high/low range.
9. Below the graphs are blocks of text that represent the graph in text form, including the tests, order dates and times, reference range, units of measurement, and the standard deviation. Copia lists all selected tests in the text area. If a test has multiple ranges, then Copia displays the range next to each result instead of at the end in the range column. Abnormal results appear in red on-screen and bold when printed. If a result has no numeric results, then Copia displays "textual result" instead, and it does not graph the points in any way.
10. Click the Print button in an Order Choice section to print the order choice graph and corresponding data via the View PDF page.
11. There are some special cases that affect how Copia displays the result information:
    • If there is no graphable data, then Copia displays the message "No graphable data exists for Order Choice." This would happen, for example, if all the historical results for the order choice are non-numeric results.
    • Ranges cannot be viewed for tests with multiple ranges, or blank ranges.
    • Tests without ranges cannot be viewed normalized, and Copia removes offending points from the graph.
12. When you are done reviewing the graph, return to the preceding page by clicking Back.
